Day 1: Arrival, shopping in Roseau/ Grandbay for your stay at the Hide-Out Cottage
Drink jelly (young coconut) as a welcome drink
Day 2: Drive to Scott’s Head and climb the small peak to see the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea clash together and then visit the Soufriere Sulphur Springs to bathe in the healing mineral –rich waters.
Day 3: Hide-Out’s Nature-Culture-Day: Early morning bird watching, get to know the many different species! Hide-Out garden tour: Exotic fruit trees and tropical plants and get to know herbs and their uses. Enjoy a river bath in the Geneva river right in front of your doorsteps and let the water massage you. Learn how to make a broom out of coconut leaves or a dish/bowl out of calabash, a wonderful souvenir!
Day 4: Six hours hike to the second largest Boiling Lake in the world, with a bath in Ti Tou Gorge afterwards.
Day 5: Cocoa day! Pick cocoa and put to dry, then roast, peel, squeeze, role and finally drink a cup of vital cocoa tea!
Day 6: Take a walk from Tete Morne (above Grandbay) to Palmis to enjoy the view. In the evening we will prepare a local, vegetarian meal for you as a Christmas gift and “Sakis”, a cultural band from Grandbay will come and entertain you with drumming!

Programme:

Early morning bird watching, see many (!) different species and learn their names. Get guided through the Hide-Out garden with exotic fruit trees and tropical plants and learn about herbs and their uses!
Take a refreshing river bath in the Geneva river right in front of you doorstep and let the water massage you!
Day 3: Walk from Tete Morne (above the village of Grandbay) to Palmis to enjoy the scenic view of Grand Bay.
In the afternoon you can choose between either making a broom out of coconut leaves or a dish/bowl out of calabash, a great souvenir!
Day 4: Cocoa-day! We will pick fresh cocoa and put beans to dry, then roast, peel, squeeze, role and at last drink a vital cup of local cocoa tea!
Day 5: Visit Grandbay to see the arts and crafts created by Rastas from the community, have a look at the coal pot soap factory at Geneva and visit a bay oil distillery on the south-east coast.
