From Roseau travel to the South of the Island, pass the villages of Newtown and Loubière, then swing left up to the mountains in the direction to Bellevue Chopin and Pichelin.
At Geneva, before you reach the village of Grand Bay, you swing to your left (direction Dubuc, Bagatelle, Petite Savanne), where you’ll pass the "Pierre-Charles-Secondary-School" and the sports field, followed by a bridge.
After crossing this bridge you will see the sign "The Hide-out" on your left, to follow a small road to the Cottage (approx. 500m).
For backpack tourists there is also a bus-connection, ask for buses to Bagatelle/Petite Savanne!

The Hide-out cottage is located on the Geneva Estate on the south of the island. The Geneva Estate was owned by Jesuits and then by a family of Swiss Hugenots, who named the Estate after their home town and produced sugar, rum and molasses. In the 19th century it was sold to the Lockharts, the family of JEAN RHY's mother. Jean Rhy's novel " Wide Saragossa Sea" is available to read at the Hide-out! Today the Estate is owned jointly by the state and by private holdings.
